| Our Homestead | |
|
We built our own little home on 22
acres of woods and ravines in 1998, clearing only enough trees to provide
room for the house, a garden and a small barn. Back then, dairy goats, hens
and honeybees graciously provided us with milk, eggs and honey.
While the animals are currently gone, we
still grow organic vegetables & fruits in our large garden. Dogs, cats
and a few reptiles complete our busy homestead.
The garden includes flowers and sleeping cats

Our bees produced delicious
wildflower honey. Here, we installed two "packages" of bees
into their new homes during the spring Rhoad Island Red chicks, 2 days old.

Our beautiful free-range hens actively roamed the ravines as they searched for bugs and seeds.
Our Elongated tortoise, Torti, enjoys her lunch of bananas and oranges (she is still with us). |
